This album was made during the New Noakes hiatus, showing a very different side to my musical taste to the previous two fusionesque albums. The three of us had toured quite a bit around the UK - largely for the enjoyment of the whole ‘on the road’ experience - before we decided to record what we were doing. When it came to it, we recorded a rather different set to that which we had been gigging. We had planned to record 80% standards and 20% originals, but Paul Jolly (executive producer of 33 Records) told me that he would prefer a greater proportion of originals. I took some time to write a couple of tunes and once started, I soon had more than an albums-worth to select from. This is a pretty gentle album, very nicely recorded by Wolfgang D. Schott in germany.
